  Steer clear from this business. I have the top of the line PPO plan with Blue Shield of CA (Platinum 90 PPO - aka the "Rolls Royce" of insurances). I pay quite a bit for the monthly premium of said plan. I have a zero dollar deductible and a $20 copay for each visit. Every single visit to my prior Doctor (Michael Waldman), I end up receiving a damn bill for approximately $80 - $120 weeks later. Supposedly it's the amount Blue Shield of CA refuses to pay Dr. Waldman's office. The thing is that it is between Blue Shield and Dr. Waldman what is paid and not paid. I did my part and paid my copay and pay the high monthly insurance dues. This doctors office and this company are continuously breaking the law by doing illegal "balanced billing". That's exactly what this is. They bill a larger amount to the insurance knowing a lot of it will be rejected. They then turn around and bill me the remaining. Total scam and 100% illegal. Furthermore, every time I contacted Blue Shield, I was told this doctor is NOT in Blue Shield's network, so again, another scam. They claim to be in Blue Shield's network, then bill Blue Shield as out of network and turn around and bill the patient. I'm currently logged into my Blue Shield and a claim from my last visit in October, 2010 has a message stating the following verbatim: The physician or other health care provider is not part of this plan's provider network, and therefore, is not required to accept the amount allowed as payment in full. The subscriber is responsible for deductibles, copayment amounts, non-covered items, and the difference between the billed charge and allowed amount. Again, a typical scam the doctors office and this billing department is pulling with patients and Blue Shield of CA. They tell you they take Blue Shield of CA, then send you a bill a month later....after the fact. I've made numerous calls to Blue Shield of CA only to be informed this doctor is not in their network. I relay said info to the staff, only to be told they do accept Blue Shield and they tell me Blue Shield was wrong. I just got off the phone with Blue Shield. It is confirmed that Dr. Michael Waldman is NOT in Blue Shield's network, so watch out everyone that plans to do business with him. Furthermore, Blue Shield informed me that the doctors office is not in a contract and a contract is not required. Blue Shield even told me that the doctors office could accept Blue Shield one month and not accept it the next month. That is a ponzi scheme and explains all the illegal billing issues with this company. My lawyers are getting involved now. This ponzi scheme is so ridiculous and needs to be dismantled immediately. My lawyers are generating a demand letter and filing with the county courts as I write this review. To Orange County Medical Billing Company, a strong word of caution to you. I strongly advise you I am fully aware of my legal rights, your legal obligations and serious liabilities under law and have every intent to pursue all legal remedies against your ponzi scheme company should my lawyers demand fail to generate an appropriate response. Your failure to comply and correct your actions will result in swift legal action against you! Please Govern Yourself Accordingly!
